fine, but…,
This bag is nice. Its stylish and looks more Indiana Jones than murse. I’m 5’9″ and can wear it low enough that the top is at my belt near my hips. However, some things about this bag are not clear from the amazon ad. You may like to know ahead of time that:
1. There’s no way to fasten the top flap. From the picture, it seems like the two buckles may hold it down. They don’t. They’re not connected to anything – just there for style. A reviewer mentions two magnets: these just hold the small pockets closed. The faux leather on the top flap makes it heavy enough to stay in place, but don’t turn the bag upside down!
2. There is a padded pocket in the bag for a laptop, but it is smaller than the rest of the bag – about 11′ x 8′. You may automatically assume this, but I didn’t. The bag fits my 13 inch macbook, snug like I wanted – but outside of the protected area.
3. The fourth picture in the ad must be from a different model. I can’t find a zipper anywhere in the black interior of the bag.
Overall, it appears to be a fine bag for what it is. I’m still happy I bought it; there’s not many impressive offerings for a slim, simple, vertical messenger bag that you can put a laptop in. Plus, I’m not adverse to adding my own fasteners and pockets. But if these minor details affect how you’ll use the bag, you’d be better off knowing them now.

|Stylish but way too small.,
Update: The more I dig inside the bag, the more little compartments I find, which is worthy of another star.
This bag has style. The material is great, the faux leather is nice and smells like the real thing. The two pockets in the front are closed by magnets (I really hate velcro) which is great. The strap is comfortable and not too thick.
However, if you are taller than 5’9, do NOT buy this bag. I am 6′ tall and the bag is way to small for me. With the bag over my shoulder and hanging straight down (not diagonally), the bag barely reaches my hips, meaning that it tends to look more like a purse than a messenger. In the picture, the bag is shown on a mannequin that must be 5’5 or something. I thought the strap would lengthen out to be at least a decent length. Nope, it’s tiny!
The actual bag compartment is also small, which can be a positive or negative depending on how you see it. I can fit a medium-sized textbook, my netbook, and a couple of thin folders inside it, but nothing more. A couple of pencils will fit in the outside pocket but be careful! The pockets are closed by a magnet that leaves large gaps in the top corners, leaving more than enough room for any small objects like pencils and coins to slip out of. Don’t me wrong, I love the small size. I have a large messenger bag that is huge and although it fits a lot of stuff, it allows you to be lazy and start piling stuff inside until it’s filled with junk. That’s why I like the small size of this bag. It forces me to be neat and throw away old papers.
Lastly, the bag has very decent padding, making it great for protecting electronics. This is the only reason why I kept it. I plan to use it to carry my netbook around and for carrying my camera equipment when I go out for a photoshoot.
Bottom line: it’s a cute bag that’s small and stylish but if you’re tall like me, buy something bigger. Great padding.

|Works for me!,
The item came quickly & looks exactly like the picture. The material is good quality & I expect this thing to last quite a while. I got this to replace the huge messenger bag I’ve been using, which was just too big & looked too frumpy.
The flap & the main bag have a stiffness to them that allows the bag to hold it’s shape, which I really love, so that it doesn’t look like some crumpled rag when empty, as my big messenger bag did.
It was smaller than I expected, but I’m okay with that. I’m 5’10″ & the strap is long enough to hang at my hip when I wear it as a cross-body.
The bag is divided as such: two compartments on the front, magnetic closure, perfect size for pack of cigarettes. One zipper compartment on the back of the bag, perfect size for sheets of paper folded in half. Two main compartments- The one in the back is padded, perfect size for ipad or mead composition notebook. The one toward the front includes 4 small pockets sewn to the inside- 2 for pens & 2 for small items like cell phones, ipods, or case of altoids, etc.
Despite it’s size, it really does hold a decent amount. I have a big set of keys, a full sized ladies wallet, a digital camera, phone, ipod, small makeup bag, cigerettes, & hars shell sunglasses case in mine, & everything is still easy to find without dumping the thing everytime I need a piece of gum.
I highly recommend it. Stylish enough to be an everyday bag, rugged enough to last, & just the right size.
